Wild Roots Nature Fest

IMPORTANT UPDATE. Due to circumstances outside of our control, we are unable to use Coronation Field on Saturday 13th June so will be relocating all of the Freeman’s Wood events to Quay Meadows. We will contact everyone who has booked onto a session with details and will update booking information accordingly. Thanks for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you there.

After a successful launch last year, Wild Roots Nature Fest is back from 6th to 14th June 2026.

All of the activities at the festival are provided free to the public; it costs us quite a lot to run, so if you are able to contribute anything financially, we really appreciate it. You can make a voluntary contribution when booking your ticket, through our Square payment portal or with cash or scanning a QR code on the day. Thanks in advance for your support!

Wild Roots Nature Fest is an annual festival taking part in mid-June during The Great Big Green Week series of events based in and around Lancaster District. The festival is a celebration of the natural world, and our aim is to help people to connect (or reconnect) with nature for their own benefit and to appreciate and make space for nature itself.

Follow Wildlife Wellbeing Walks on Facebook for updates.

Programme (below) last updated: 21st May 2026

What's on?

You can book workshops and walks from the 2026 programme of events here. For events where booking is not required, you can just turn up on the day.

All Wild Roots Nature Fest sessions are on a donation only basis, and you can donate while booking or in person at each event.

How can I help nature?

Follow the link below for information on volunteering, projects you can do to bring nature into your space and how to follow The Countryside Code to minimise your impact when you’re outside.

The Great Big Green Week and World Localisation Day

The festival is taking part during The Great Big Green Week, an annual event that runs in mid-June to celebrate and support the natural world. Please follow the link to find out more about other events taking place during the week.

World Localisation Day aims to ‘catalyze collective action to rebuild healthy local economies, communities and local food systems’. Held on 21st June, just after Wild Roots, this is a great opportunity to support local systems and economies.
